Bifocal Contact Lenses

Bifocal contacts are special contact lenses designed for people who suffer from a condition known as presbyopia. Presbyopia is a condition that causes ones near vision to become blurred and typically occurs later on in life. One of the classic signs of developing presbyopia is the need to hold menus, magazines, papers, etc. at an arm's length to be able to properly read them.

Bifocal contact lenses accomodate presbyopia by actually having two prescriptions per lens. This way the contacts can provide correction for both the near and far vision issues. Bifocal contacts are part of a category of contact lenses, multifocal lenses, that provide solutions for presbyopia and similar conditions.
